Tu aimes l’Union européenne ou tu la détestes? Tu la voudrais plus à droite ou plus à gauche?
Alors, pourquoi laisser à d’autres le soin de choisir celles et ceux qui détermineront ton avenir et celui de près de 500 millions d’Européens ?
Début juin 2009, les élections européennes permettront aux citoyens des 27 Etats membres de l’Union d’élire au suffrage universel les 736 députés qui composeront pendant les 5 prochaines années, le Parlement européen. Challenge for Africa
Entre le 4 et le 7 juin, les citoyens des 27 éliront leurs députés. Les médias ne cessent de nous le rappeler: ces élections arrivent dans un climat de crise globalisée. Selon Jan Andersson 3,5 millions d’emplois devraient disparaître d’ici l’été. Au Royaume Uni, en Espagne et ailleurs, on craint l’explosion sociale entre travailleurs immigrés et natifs. Budapest
Hungary, like other countries in the Eastern Block, gained its independence from the Soviet-Union in 1989. Since then free elections have been held in the country. The communist political system of János Kádár expected an “apolitical” behaviour from the people for decades. Les récents phénomènes économiques qui ont affecté d’abord l’économie financière et ensuite l’économie réelle ont fait apparaître en pleine lumière le rôle fondamental et irremplaçable des pouvoirs publics. La “main invisible” qui devait théoriquement nous conduire à la prospérité est restée tellement invisible que les économistes qui y croyaient ou faisaient semblant d’y croire s’abstiennent désormais d’y faire allusion. From Dublin to Brussels
When the Treaty of Lisbon was signed in December 2007 the big story in the Irish media was Prime Minister Bertie Ahern’s financial affairs. The government was under pressure until he resigned in May 2008. During that time the campaign against the treaty got organised and effectively put the contents and implications of the treaty into question. Continue reading
