I am sure that the new generation of Jesuits and the lay collaborators are aware of the tremendous task Fr. Pierre Van Stappen s.i. made to introduce christian values in the E.U. through the Foyer Catholique Europèen. Aftter all the fouders: De Gasperi, Schuman, Adenauer and Monne had these values in mind when they begun their work for Europe. In my opinion, one should remind the younger generations of civil servants working in the EU institutions what were the aims of the founders. This is an important task of the European Social Centre. After all the efforts to create and realize the project I am astonished that the role of the SJ engaged for the European cause is not mentioned at least with one word. Are we really interested to get as SJ in distance to it? It would be a sign contrary to the "Signs of Resurrection".
